Formed in 2004, Snarky Puppy is a production team/session band featuring a collective of nearly 40 musicians, referred to as ‘The Fam’ on their recordings and tours. Many of the current and former band members were once students at the University of North Texas, where the band was formed and led by Micheal League, who is their bassist, composer and producer.

The band’s line-up is often in flux as members routinely perform with other artists such as Justin Timberlake and Snoop Dogg, amongst others.

By end of summer the band will have released a total of 11 albums since 2006. In 2014, Snarky Puppy won a Grammy award in the Best R&B Performance category for one of their songs released on Family Dinner album. A year later, they won their second Grammy for Sylva, an album recorded in collaboration with Dutch Metropole Orchestra, which won them the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.
